Married with one child, born on February 19, 1974, she earned her law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lisbon in 1998 and has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2000. Ana Rita Paínho is an attorney practicing in the areas of Information Technology, E-Commerce, Consumer Rights, Data Protection, Marketing, and Advertising, among others.

She was the partner in charge of the intellectual property and information technology practice at Sérvulo & Associados - Sociedade de Advogados, SP, RL, and previously a Partner and Consultant at Anselmo Vaz, Afra & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, SP, RL.

She is currently Head of Country at Bird & Bird Lisbon.
